The Pflugerville Police Department offers Crime Prevention programs available to Neighborhood Associations as well as private businesses and individuals. Included in the programs are opportunities for our citizens to participate in Neighborhood Watch, capitalize on a wide curriculum of educational opportunities and receive residential or business security surveys.
The responsibility of the Crime Prevention Unit is to provide and maintain crime prevention educational and informational resources for the community. Some of the Crime Prevention training and information presently offered by the Pflugerville Police Department Crime Prevention Unit include but is not limited to the following: |
- Home Security Surveys / Insurance reduction Inspections
- Operation I.D.
- Auto Theft Prevention / H.E.A.T. (help end auto theft).

- Alcohol Abuse and D.W.I. Awareness

Crime Prevention Officer:
Mike Clowdus
Cpl. Clowdus retired from the Austin Police Department after 25 years service and became the Crime Prevention Officer for Pflugerville PD in November 1997. He holds a Master Peace Officer Certificate as well as an instructor's certificate from TCLEOSE and has a BA in Criminal Justice from St. Edwards University. Mike is a member of the Texas Crime Prevention Association and is the treasurer for the Central Texas Crime Prevention Association.
